Fabric:- Savage kites are made with 3/4ozs. Rip-Stop Nylon fabric. Reinforced high-lift Internal Risers and Unsleeved sewn Dyneema Bridles to reduce drag. Flying Lines:- Each kite comes complete with 550/550lbs x 82' Climax Dyneema fiber flying lines and Quad-Line Control Handles. The Savage can also be flown on a Crossover Control Bar, available separately. The Crossover Bar comes complete with full connection instructions. As with all sports equipment exposed to natural elements such as wind, sea water, dust, sand and sunlight, life expectancy varies. With heavy use in these conditions, Savage kites can be expected to remain operationally effective for a minimum of 2 years. Of course, with moderate use and care, this time period can be lengthened considerably. To optimize performance, it is suggested that equipment be updated and/or replaced routinely. |
![]() Each
Savage kite comes in a sturdy back-pack with Instructions, Control Handles, Flying Line
and DVD. Technically advanced, this kite has a narrow high-lift aerofoil profile and smooth top skin to
increase airspeed. Power is smooth and progressive. Good attention to construction detail. Our flight
tests were impressive yielding solid dynamic power. Reinforced Internal Risers and Leading Edge Vent Mesh ensures
optimum sail shape across the wind range. Bridles are unsleeved to reduce drag. With a high aspect ratio, the
Savage has good edge-of-wind performance. Great for making upwind. With high dynamic power output, these kites
are suitable for more experienced pilots. With very similar performance to the Blade series, Savage kites have
good "lift" which contributes to getting good "air". As wind speed increases, there's plenty of power on tap
with these striking power-on style traction kites. Though the smaller sizes are intended for strong winds and
the larger sizes for lighter wind conditions, the operating range of each Savage will largely depend on the
flyers skill level with this type of kite.
Getting started:- Whether flying for fun or Traction Kiting, the Savage is powerful.
We suggest that this kite is best suited to pilots with some experience flying
Quad Line Power Kites due to its' dynamic flight characteristics and higher power output. No matter what
type of kite you use for Kite Traction, there are a number of things to remember when
selecting the best size to start with. The Savage to use will depend on the Surface; (Skis
on snow or ice, Kite Buggy or LandBoard on soft or hard sand, grass or hard ground), the Wind
Speed; flyer Skill and Experience and flyer Weight.
Whether the flyer has limited experience or a lot of Traction Kiting flight time, the best choice
is the smallest kite that will produce enough power to move. It is essential not
to be overpowered, not just because it's obviously safer, but upwind travel will be
easier and less power is easier to manage. Initial flights with a Savage are best undertaken
on solid ground in modest steady wind to get familiar with control. Once you are confident that you
can control the kite, then progress to Kite Buggy, Skis or Kite Landboard. |
![]() These kites produce considerable pull and are not suitable for inexperienced flyers. Always learn to control the kites before attempting kite traction activities. Sensible saftey precautions should be followed when flying these kites and protective clothing, especially sturdy shoes and a helmet should always be worn when using them for traction. Read instructions and safety warnings in with every kite. |
